Getting ready for Christmas!- December.

Every year, our Christmas preparations start earlier and earlier.  Since we'd be gone over Thanksgiving and part of Christmas this year, We decided the weekend before Thanksgiving was the best time to get started.

I got a good sale on lights and then realized she'd also gotten a good sale 2 years ago before she packed up all of the Christmas decorations.  That meant we could decorate our house "Indian-style" for Christmas.  Apparently, this is how they hung the lights for John and Kingkini's wedding in Kolkata.  I think papa appreciated it, because it's pretty quick to hang lights this way.  (And after Christmas, I bought 15 more boxes of lights, so next year we can make it all the way across the front of the house.)  As for the yard decorations, we have a strict "must be tacky, must be free or from a garage sale" policy.  Out friends contributed a light up train and I scored a penguin in the 90% off after Christmas rush.  Now if we only had a big inflatable.
Inside, the big tree glowed with red, white, and multi-colored lights.  We also had another 6 foot tree and 3 more 3 foot trees packed with ornaments.
Georgie and Callie had a good time looking at all of the ornaments, though our real trouble maker was June, who kept stealing all of the most beautiful ornaments off the trees for her own personal collection.  I'm still finding them hidden around the house.
There's a drive-through light display about 25 minutes away that we like, not only because we just like drive-through light displays, but because they also have a very authentic looking Santa.  June, obviously jumped right up with her alligator.

Georgie tolerated Santa for the candy.
And Henry asked for something generic, like more legos. (Trying to get a Christmas list out of this kid that didn't involve $300 remote controlled vehicles is next to impossible.)
Look at that motley crew.
Outside, we posed for a few pictures.
And June choreographed a dance about how Santa was bringing her presents!!!

There's no lack of Christmas spirit in this girl.  Here's her rendition of Feliz Navidad.
