As I am prone to do, I hitched on to Miss Sara's business trip to Charleston.
I can't believe we've been in South Carolina this long and have never been to see Charleston. Of course, my first priority was taking the ferry out to Ft. Sumter- the site of the first shots fired in the Civil War.
I was surprised at how small this little island was.
I thought it was pretty cool how the cannons could swivel.
I did a lot of walking around the historic downtown. This is Rainbow Row, a pretty famous street.
And I came on Battery Park, right at the tip of the city.
There was a lovely sunset...
.. delightfully old trees...
...and more than a few ridiculously huge houses.
But it was a great little getaway with Miss Sara.
