June's class held it's end of year celebration.
The prepared a program and June was very excited to show it off. (That's her on the left side.)
I don't want to brag, but June really carried this performance. And by carried, I mean sang the loudest. She really gets into it at the end of this song.
Look at that sweet girl in her knee socks. June LOVED kindergarten. And her teachers were a perfect fit. They learned sight words by singing songs. That is so June.
The kids all took turns reciting the ABCs of kindergarten. June's group had U and W.
Very pleased with herself.
June really shines in this song too. I think she was the only one with the nerve to hit the high note.
After the performance was a picnic. The kids loved Bea, but she didn't seem to notice. (This is the last time she wore this sweet little newborn outfit (at 6 weeks old).
June and Mac. I don't want to startle anyone, but they have stated their intentions to marry. I've given my blessing- after June finishes her first PhD.
This class holds a special place in my heart. Their teacher, Mrs. Rhodes, died unexpectedly over Christmas break. It was really a hard experience, but with the support of the school and their classmates, I think it was handled well. The biggest gift we received was the new teacher, Mrs. Simoneaux. You can't help but meet her and think "She should be a kindergarten teacher." She is so wonderful with all of the kids. We are so lucky she came to us.
And we're very excited to say that June has passed the stringent requirements for kindergarten and will be advancing to first grade! No one is more excited than June.
