Hudson's birthday party- July 6.

After 3 heart surgeries in his first year of life, we had a lot to celebrate on Hudson's birthday.
I'd say he earned this cake.

Grandma learned her lesson when she got too close and got frosting thrown on her shirt.

Because Hudson got very messy.

It's a good thing he's so cute.

Dad was the only one brave enough to approach him when the cake was gone.

We're going to have to start calling this a Seibert bath.  Doesn't anyone bath their kids inside?

Cecelia also scored a piece of cake and didn't make nearly as big a mess.

Same with Tessa.

The party also marked Bea getting to meet Great Grandma Seibert for the first time.

She took a nice nap with Great Grandma and Great Grandpa.

Then took a nap with Grandma.  Those cheeks make a nice pillow.

The front yard featured a pool, sprinkler and slip and slide.  I think Grandma Wagner would have jumped in too if you'd let her.

June and Heidi had tons of fun splashing.

This makes my shins hurt just looking at it.  There's only two inches of water in there, you know.  Oh to be young again.

Georgie gives it her best shot.

June gets a running start.

Georgie explains the finer points of the kiddie pool to Grandma.
We swear that's from the pool, guys.

Later, Grandma took a break with Hudson.

And JJ tried to get some giggles.

Then Hudson set out again to prove he was the big kid on the blanket.

Poor Bea doesn't know what's coming.

Watch out!

Oof.

A day like this would wear anyone out.

We headed back to Grandma and Grandpa's house, but realized we didn't have the keys.  So really we HAD to stop for ice cream in Ridgeville Corners.  Little good it did us though, because Grandma and Grandpa had also stopped for ice cream on their way to take Great Grandma home, so we still beat them back.

Grandpa's herd of cats has produced some pretty cute kitties.  June's favorite is this one that she calls Mouse Jr.

I even got in on the kitty holding.
