If you find yourself in Columbus, Ohio, you've got to go to the Columbus Zoo. It is the best.

We went specifically to see the new Africa Safari wing they've opened.
And while we were there, the kids got to ride on camels! Alone!
Dash and JoJo rode with Grams.
And thought it was pretty cool.
Next up, a stop for lunch.
And on to the aquarium. I can tell you that over our five weeks in Ohio, this was the hottest day. So it was nice to escape to a cool, dark building.
Feeling refreshed, we headed to Dinosaur Island.

The best part of Dinosaur Island is that you get to tour it on a boat!
There was also a dinosaur that spit venom at you, but I didn't want to risk my fancy phone. Notice how Jo spent more time consulting her map. It was precious to her for many weeks.
As we dragged ourselves back to the cars, we made one last stop at the carousel.

All of that fun (with an occasional animal sighting) wore the kids out. Georgie even asked for a nap at 5:30. Poor kid. We had to wake her up for some more epic fun...
