The beginning of Frebruary- February 1 to 7.

Here's a good way to start out our February post.
With cheese dip.  Because based on our pictures, it looks like mostly we just ate a lot this month.
The cheese dip is our annual favorite for the Super Bowl.  Usually. I have an awesome party with food from the cities of each competing team.  But this year, it was New England versus Seattle.  And I didn't feel like cooking for those regions, so we just went with our old stand-bys- taco soup, cheese dip and lot of chips.

Bea is a big fan of taco soup.  This kid can eat beans and onions forever.
We're trying to teach her a new trick- waving.  Sometimes she does wave.  Mostly she grunts, kicks, and looks adorable.  (In the background, you'll hear music, some kind of toy and a kettle boiling.  This is how our house always sounds.  Except there are usually yelling or crying children too.)

Georgie got to go on a playdate to her friends' house.  Jack carpools with us to preschool every day.  His big sister Kaitlyn is Georgie's age, but goes to 4K at the elementary school.

We're always at their house dropping off or picking up, but Georgie was pumped to get to actually stay and play dress up.

June wrote this in her journal and we love it.  "I love my cute, chubby, sitting and rolling over baby sister, Bea." Isn't that so sweet?
I love this.  Its not very often that you see a video of my children (or least two of them) sitting quietly and actually eating food with enthusiasm.  Thanks, extra long spaghetti.
Beatrice loves to be outside.  She really likes sitting on the top step in the back yard and playing with the stones in the walkway.

I'll never get tired of Bea jumping in her jumper.  And this video actual catches her waving at the end.
In the video you can hear Georgie and June working on a project.  They get along so well right now.  They love playing together.  They've even been sharing a bed for a few months since June started sleepwalking and had to be demoted from the top bunk.  It really is so sweet having them so close- except when they are mean to each other and June gets mad and Georgie gets devastated.

Here's the finished project.  It's a Hello Kitty boat.  I especially love the Italian flag, use of legos and board books as furniture, and the cardboard tube flag.

June's teacher, Miss Pitman, sent home a folder full of homework ideas for the year.  One was writing your name in salt.  This one is a big favorite.

Georgie liked it too.  She wrote the name of her friend.

More pictures of Bea eating.  I think I took this one to gross out Aunt Jenni.

More attempts to get Bea to wave, met with grunting and kicking.  And Brandon singing and a show of how gently the 4th kid gets a nose wiping.
Beatrice is on the cusp of crawling.

And she's very good at getting herself into sticky situations.  Luckily there is always someone around to extract her.

Here's a really cute video of waving and almost crawling.  And dad playing "Oh Yoko" on the piano.

What a chunk.

"Mom?  I think I'm stuck again."

Sigh.  One week after I got my awesome Hogwarts cup, I knocked it over and broke it.  This is why we don't have nice things.

Ha.  June is hilarious.  She spent a significant amount of time trying to convince us that these shorts (made specifically for wearing under skirts) and these socks pulled up to mid thigh were a good substitute for pants.  I said no.

I took this picture while repeatedly warning that I would end him if he actually fired a nerf bullet at me.

I promise no one actually fired their weapons at close range.  But I do think this shot is great.

Henry convinced me to accept the class guinea pig for the weekend.  Everyone was so excited for a pet, and I was the only one who actually got this cute little guy out to play with.  I guess a guinea pig is not the right pet for us.
Do I ever love this dirty face.
Can you handle one more video of Bea in a high chair?  I just can't get enough of her waving and grunting.

Now that Bea is moving (though still slowly), we're brainstorming containment ideas to keep her out of the kids' toys. Here's Georgie's bright idea.

Beatrice says she won't mess up any set-ups if we let her eat everyone's ice cream.

Dad is such a pushover.

While I was gone and hiking- January 29 to 31.

While I was in London, the kids had some adventures of their own.  Bea spent a day with Miss Paloma.  Check it out- she's gone Tia in a carrier on her back and Bea on the front in another carrier!

Georgie and June spent an afternoon with their friends Marion, Laurel, and Helen making

I cam eback from London with presents.  Hello Kitty always goes over well, even if there is nothing British about her.

Bea got some new burp clothes from Miss Zuzana.  Aren't they cute?

Guess who was so glad to see her mama?  This belly.

While I was gone, Beatrice refused to take a bottle, sippy cup, breast or syringe of breast milk, formula, water, or juice. Poor kid had to subsist on applesauce, cheerios, and cheek reserves.

Thank goodness those cheeks lasted a whole week.

The end of January was nice and cold.  Refreshing considering the rest of the year is so hot.  So we forced everyone out for a hike.

To a waterfall.  Look at how excited they are.

The 95% of the path is fairly flat and easy.  But when we get to the waterfall, it gets exciting.

Steps all the way down!  I can't believe I did this with the three big kids 9 months pregnant last year.
We hiked with our friend Miss Claiborne, Sylvia, and Amelia.

But it was really cold and Georgie was just not having it so we walked back before the rest of the group.

At least I had someone soft to keep me warm.

Last, we had a night out with some friends.  Miss Nicole took great pictures of us.  This is Bea and Abby.

Bea listening while dad plays with his friends.

And mom rolling up spring rolls for everyone.

One more thing....

Mom was cleaning out under the couch when she pulled out something gray and hard.  It turned out to be a petrified frog.  She ran around the house screaming for a while, but did keep the frog for us to see.  And you know she took a picture too.  Scroll down if you have the guts.

You can believe she's not putting her hand under the couch anymore.

Out of the city- January 26 to 28.

I took a (really fast) train out of London to visit St. Albans, the cutest little town about an hour outside of the city (or 17 minutes if you take the fast train).
Why St. Albans?  To see Georgie's best friend- Magda!
Magda and Barborka moved here from Clemson last year.  And it was my first time meeting their little brother, Simon!

He's already used to his crazy big sisters.

As excited as I was to see my old friends, we also had big plans.   Zuzana and I had tickets to the Harry Potter Studio Tour!

It gets a little geeky here.  Hold on, sweet Simonek.  The doors into Hogwarts!

The Great Hall!  With all of the costumes!

Outside the gates of Hogwarts.

It really was a very cool place.  Someone ad the good sense to keep all of the sets after the movies were made to make major money off of us dorks.

Dumbledore's office!

Snape's potion room!

I really geeked out when I got to see the Wesley's house.

See?  We weren't the only ones there.

You could ever take wand lessons and make a video of yourself flying on a broom in front of a green screen.

Outside there was more!  The Knight Bus!

And Hogwarts Bridge.

We all really liked Diagon Alley.

Weasley's Wizarding Weezes.
Starstruck.

And the last big thing was the huge model of Hogwarts.  It really was awesome.
Somehow, I managed to accidentally delete the rest of my St. Alban's and London photos.  But I did manage to spend a good bit of time with this sweet little boy.

And hugging him to sleep.

And when we did get out, we visited the the Cathedral of St. Alban- the oldest continuous Christian Church in Europe- built in 1077.  And then we went next door to England's oldest pub- Ye Olde Fighting Cock!

Before I left for my journey home, I headed back through London and managed to spot Platform 9 3/4 (another Harry Potter site) inside King's Cross station.
