We all started feeling better, so we hit road as soon as possible.
Why? To join up with these kids who were living it up in Jacksonville, North Carolina.
Grams, PawPaw, GG, Sadie and Dash had ventured down South for Spring Break. Then Dad took Henry and Georgie up there so they didn't have to drive home from their camping trip and back to the ocean again. We were eager to get there too!
I mean, I can only go so long without seeing Georgie's bottom hanging from her low slung pants. (For the record, she owns pants that actually fit her. She just likes wearing them REALLY low.)

Ant Jill and Uncle Phillip live on base at Camp LeJeune, so we got to see Uncle Phillip a lot. Those Marines sure are strong!
But they still join their nieces in a secret hideout under a playground when told.

The messy hair brigade.
Uncle Phillip is in charge of a service shop that repairs some pretty intimidating looking long range weapons. So of course we posed next to them.
Bea has found her calling in the artillery.
June didn't want to visit Uncle Phillip's shop. She also didn't want to take a nap because she wasn't tired. Been there, girl.
While discussing the races of creatures in the Lord of the Rings, Henry drew us this descriptive Venn diagram. I'm not sure where hobbits fit in.
I shared a room with this pumpkin. Hanging out with her cousins really wears a kid out. Some days I even woke up before her, which really is saying something.
But when she did wake up, mini Cindy Cooper was all smiles.
One especially pretty day, we visited the Veteran's Memorial.
Everyone wanted to pose next to the Marine seal.
Now they little cousins.
Poor PawPaw. It's hard to drum up enthusiasm for the Army in a Marine town. (Though it was awfully fun to see the Marines at the gate salute him when they found out his rank.)
The memorial also featured a nice little park which played host to some wildflower picking.
June and GG stop for a break.
We had time for one more trip to the beach. It is still early April and really too cold to be in the water, but that didn't stop these girls. You can see Henry in the background fully clothed. He wasn't having it.
One last shot of the kids with their Easter baskets. Awesome spring break!
