While we were in West Virginia, we spent a day with Aunt Joann and Unlce Dean down in the holler eating biscuits and gravy and visiting.
Henry took advantage of the big parking lot at the church next door and learned how to ride a bike. It didn't take long, seeing as how he was already 7 1/2 and is pretty proficient at the scooter. We pushed him off once and he took off.
Here he is in action. Jo was freaking out because a neighborhood dog was following her around.
For reference, check out the size of that mean dog at the end of this video.
Back at the house, June and her Dean spent time spitting off the bridge in the driveway and dropping pieces of biscuits down to the minnows. (What a waste of Joann's perfect biscuits.) Later, we noticed that we hadn't seen either girl in a while and discovered that Dean was out on the porch feeding the girls granola bars, muffins, and all kinds of other treats. Uncle Dean in the best.
On Mother's Day, we decided to head to the State Capitol.
We've driven by the golden dome the many times we drove past Charleston, but never stopped to check it out.
We had a good time exploring the grounds and taking in the beautiful weather.
Grams found a unicorn. I heard that's good luck.
There's only one thing you can do when you're a Parsons and you find an Abraham Lincoln. You pose for a picture in front of it.
This time with parents.
Now with Grams and PawPaw.
Who knows what got into June? I think it had something to do with robots and maybe those inflatable bendy things in front of the check into cash places. At least she decided against jumping from the top step.

Inside we were all impressed with the big chandeliers and how loud everyone's voices became in a big stone room.
So we headed back outside to ring a bell and make as much noise as possible.
We also visited the West Virginia State Museum, which was awesome! We had to rush through the last half, but it's on my list of places to visit again the next time we're in Charleston.
