Tour of the National Mall- March 29th.

We wanted to head back down to see more of the monuments before Grandma and Grandpa left.
We met them on the steps of the Jefferson Memorial.
If you're going to take 3 kids, why not add a 4th?  So we took our neighbor, Brandon.
We walked all the way around the Basin.
June got a little help from her friend.
The whole team approaching the FDR Memorial.
As is the norm for our kids, they spent the first hour whining, complaining and being rowdy in general.  But usually, if we can make it through that, they calm down and have a pretty good time.
IF we can make it through the first hour.  Why are kids so goofy all the time?
I don't know if it's appropriate or not that these broken rocks, symbolizing FDR's feelings on war ("War is Hell") were used as a playground, but thanks to everyone there for letting my kids get their wiggles out and not giving us too many dirty looks.

Why don't you guys get a job?
Georgie was pretty happy to stay in her stroller with her nukie and blankie.  These crazy weeks of visitors always wipe her out.
When we left the Jefferson Memorialm we did a bathroom check.  Of course, no less than 3 minutes later did June announce she had to go NOW!  So we got to run and miss searching the cherry trees for any sign of a blossom.  (We did see one.)
Next up, Stanley at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial.
And Stanley sizes up the scaffolding on the Washington Monument.
We walked across the Mall and over to the White House, where the kids got a hold of the camera and took some goofy pictures.
Stanley at the White House.
The William Tecumseh Sherman monument proved to be another playground that was too fun to resist.
And we ended our day with a trip to the Old Post Office Tower.  (Where else?)
